When Star Trek gets the video game treatment, the focus tends to be on all the stuff, like ships and phasers, and the battles they enable. As you join the diplomatic delegation, which includes the legendary Ambassador Spock, though, you become aware of competing interests: namely, the Federation's need to keep the dilithium flowing to fuel its ships. The Federation starship Resolute arrives in the system, intent on helping negotiate peace as a neutral intermediary-or at least, that's the claim. At the edge of the galaxy, two peoples are on the brink of war, fighting over mining rights to the incredibly important resource dilithium, the stuff that makes starships go. IMO the game should have released both physical and digital versions simultaneously instead of releasing the physical and digital versions several months apart.A diplomatic incident is brewing. The Tricorder scanning could easily have been fixed if the player had the option to widen the scan field it would have made scanning a lot easier not having to point the Tricorder at a very specific spot and would have made one of the slowest parts of the game speed up significantly. In addition to what I mentioned above the combat is the worst part of the game it's too easy to get killed and when you do get killed just activate story mode it makes you immortal. The only parts of Resurgence that I didn't like are scanning with a Tricorder which is irritating as you have to point the Tricorder at a very specific spot for it to work and operating the Transporter which involves a very irritating minigame of getting each of the 3 bars on screen to max out at varying lengths and there is another minigame that's also irritating I think that minigame involves moving dots around on a computer monitor I can't remember as it's been a while since I last played Resurgence. PS4 owners get a free upgrade to the PS5 version, currently the PS5 plays the PS4 version in emulation the new versions include a raft of bug fixes and quality of life additions. Star Trek Resurgence disc version will be released on October 6th on PS4, PS5 and Xbone There are some parts of the game that require you to manually adjust things on various computers these parts are annoying and it's best to follow a YouTube walkthrough for those parts a great commentary free walkthrough is the one by Gamer's Little Playground I'd link to it if I could but YouTube stopped working long ago on this gadget I'm using it won't be hard to find type in Star Trek Resurgence walkthrough on YouTube and it'll be the first video you see.ĭespite these issues Resurgence is a good game, whoever they have playing the part of Spock is great he sounds exactly like Leonard Nimoy. The combat is not great if you take 3 hits your dead when that happens select try again in story mode it makes you and anyone you have to protect invincible, I would have made one change to the combat better weapons throughout the game both characters you play as are armed only with phasers there are no phaser rifles in the game which is annoying when some enemies have phaser rifles. I've finished the game there are a few minor irritating issues with the game like:ĭialogue being randomly cut short when characters are talking. RE5 multiplayer was not great on the two occasions I played RE5 multiplayer it was the fight with Jill and Wesker the idiot I was playing with shot Jill not once but twice with the rocket launcher. GTA4 multiplayer was the worst always randomly disconnecting of the 50 times I tried it I got one stable game it was me and one other guy I was at the airport he was at the other end of the map so I drove all the way there to kill him when I got there I found that he was on the roof of a building with no access from the ground floor that I could see so I drove all the way back to the airport got a helicopter flew back to the building landed and killed him his game must have glitches because he didn't move when I landed on the roof and started shooting him. I didn't play Star Trek Online either I don't play multiplayer games I'm an offline gamer I did play a few multiplayer games GTA4, Mass Effect 3, Mass Effect Andromeda RE5 and The Last Of Us, The Last Of Us was the only one that I liked. Star Trek Resurgence is an offline game there's no online anything in Resurgence. Is Star Trek: Resurgence available in Europe on Xbox One? If an online subscription is not needed for the Xbox One, I'd like to try Star Trek: Resurgence. At the time I've tried that, I was jobless, so. I suppose I didn't want to pay for a monthly subscription to be able to play a videogame. I didn't make it past the login screen, because Xbox One requires the consumer to buy an additional subscription to play Online. Do you know if Star Trek: Resurgence requires an Online connection? This was the reason I didn't play Star Trek Online.
